The purpose of an Asphalt Plant is to blend aggregates, asphalt and other additives at an elevated temperature to produce a homogenous hot mix asphalt paving mixture. 

Asphalt Plants are also popularly known as Asphalt Mixing Plant, Hot Mix Plant & Asphalt Mixer. There are basically two types of Asphalt Plants; Continuous type and Dis- Continuous type. Continuous type Asphalt Plants are popularly known as Drum Mix Asphalt Plant. Asphalt Drum Mix Plants are preferable for higher production rates.
